Pressure Washing 101: House Washing

Here in Greenville and the Upstate of South Carolina we are used to the hot, humid and rainy summers. The warm climate is great for enjoying the outdoors and keeping a lush garden and landscaping. Unfortunately one major downside of this climate is the growth of algae, mildew and mold on our homes. You can drive through Greenville, SC and see rows of homes in the same neighborhood covered in green algae, moss, mildew and mold.

So how do we stay ahead of these foreign invaders that take over our homes and cover our vinyl siding, hardie-plank, brick and stone? It’s quite simple. Pressure washing!

This isn’t like back in the old days when you hooked up a high powered PSI machine to your garden hose and used a wand to blast away on the side of your precious home. Today the industry standard for house washing is known as Soft Washing. Soft Washing is a chemical based and low pressure method to ensure all the nasty algae, mildew, spider webs, bugs, mold and organics are killed and permanently removed from your home.

Soft house washing uses a special pressure washing machine that is able to draw a soap and detergent carefully mixed to match your home’s need. The mix is applied and softly cleans your entire home. After the cleaning agents have killed the algae, mildew and mold your home is rinsed with low pressure and high volume. No longer are the days of blasting away for hours on end and damaging siding, soffit and window seals.

So next time when you see one side of your home getting over run by algae, mildew and mold. Make sure to call Matt The Driveway Guy and ask for the Soft House Washing Service. This is by far our most common service. We recommend home owners get their homes professionally soft washed at least every year and a half or sooner!

We proudly serve the Upstate of South Carolina for all of our soft house washing and pressure washing services including but not limited to. Greenville, Simpsonville, Greer, Taylors, Travelers Rest, Fountain Inn, Easley, Piedmont, Mauldin.
